Jackson Plant

The LyondellBasell Jackson Plant was originally developed as a light manufacturing operation in the 1970's and was converted into a polypropylene compounding operation in 1988. The location originally had three compounding lines, but additional operations were added over the next 27 years, bringing the total to six commercia lines and one developmental line.

The Plant combines polypropylene resin with other materials to enhance the physical properties and prepare them for specific customer applications, such as parts for interior and exterior automotive applications.

The Jackson site is an integral part of the local economy. The site provides good paying and stable jobs in which workers live and shop in the local area for goods and services. Property taxes paid by LyondellBasell help support the local schools and government services. The site also supports the community through donations to organizations such as the Regional Inter-Faith Association (RIFA), City of Jackson Fire Department and the Jackson Madison County African American Chamber of Commerce.

The safety of the community, our operations and our employees is a primary focus. The plant aims for zero injuries, zero process safety incidents, zero product safety incidents, zero environmental incidents and zero plastic pellet loss to the environment. The LyondellBasell GoalZERO standards apply to all employees, contractors and suppliers performing work at the sites.
