LYB Pipeline and Corpus Christi Complex support local communities

Friday, January 10, 2025

In recognition of World Food Day and Global Care Day efforts, LyondellBasell (LYB) employees from the Pipeline Divisions and Corpus Christi Complex (CCO) united to give back to their communities by supporting local food pantries and nonprofit organizations.

Employees from the LYB Pipeline Operations (EPO) team at the Clear Lake Offices (CLK) donated nonperishable food items to the Clear Lake Food Pantry. This contribution supports the pantry’s food distribution efforts, which take place every Monday and Thursday. The Clear Lake Food Pantry is a critical resource for families in need and accepts donations on Wednesdays to keep its shelves stocked for the community.

In addition to the CLK donations, Mont Belvieu (MBO) site employees donated food items to the West Chambers Food Pantry. Approximately 40 volunteers from the EPO team participated in this initiative between the CLK and MBO sites, contributing $1,000 worth of nonperishable food items to support both pantry's mission of assisting families in need within the community.

Pipeline's Markham (MKO) and CCO sites continued the efforts and donated food, personal apparel, and hygiene items to The Purple Door in Corpus Christi, Texas. The donation for MKO was valued at approximately $2,000. CCO collected donations valuing more than $7,000, including more than 2,000 pounds of food for The Purple Door. CCO volunteers organized the donations and delivered the personal hygiene and food donations on October 12 to The Purple Door. Volunteers also sorted the donations and helped clean out and organize the facility's donation room.

These donations will assist The Purple Door in providing critical support to victims of domestic and sexual violence in South Texas. The Purple Door, formerly known as the Women’s Shelter of South Texas, serves a 12-county region and offers programs and services designed to empower survivors and help them regain independence.

These events supported the company’s focus on being a responsible, good neighbor in the communities where it operates, which is in line with the LYB global corporate citizenship program, Advancing Good, which invests in charitable organizations and participates in efforts supporting three key focus areas: Advancing Our Communities, Advancing Our Planet, and Preparing Tomorrow's Workforce. For more information on how to support these organizations, visit Clear Lake Food Pantry and The Purple Door.
