The LyondellBasell (LYB) Channelview Complex (CVO), La Porte Complex (LPO) Houston Technology Center (HTC), and Houston Engineering Center (HEC) proudly joined together for the “Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Celebration” Parade. Also, LPO recently supported safety and emergency preparedness for the local communities' first responders by participating in events organized by the La Porte-Bayshore Chamber and the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC).
On Veteran’s Day, the City of Houston parade attracted thousands of spectators who lined the streets to pay tribute to veterans from all military branches. The LYB Veterans Employee Network provides a platform for veteran employees to connect, share experiences, and engage in community activities. The group demonstrated an inclusive workplace that values veterans' unique perspectives and skills by participating in the “Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Celebration” Parade. The event celebrated the strength, commitment, and dedication that veterans bring to LYB and the communities it serves.
The La Porte-Bayshore Chamber Annual First Responders Golf Tournament and Chili Cook-off was held on September 19, 2024. It brought together local businesses and community members to network on the greens. LPO was a Sergeant Sponsor, donating $1,250, and provided an opportunity to fundraise for emergency preparedness initiatives within the community.
LPO participated in the LEPC Health and Safety/Science Fair on September 21, 2024 following the golf tournament. The event featured exhibitors and activities to educate the public on safety practices and emergency preparedness. The LPO Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team volunteered their time. The HSE team donated two bicycles and several carbon monoxide monitors.
